"My Dad Never Came Back with the Milk"

This piece reflects the rough relationship I had with my father during childhood, using dark humor to process and express my personal trauma. The painting depicts a surreal moment of absence and neglect—my father leaving to get milk and cigarettes but bringing them to another family. The milk carton, prominently displayed, features my baby picture at the age he became absent, emphasizing the lasting emotional void. Through this work, I explore themes of abandonment, humor as coping, and the complexities of familial relationships.
