"Memories may fade, but the emotions they leave behind remain vivid, shaping who we are and where we belong."

Faded Belonging

I painted the house of my aunt and uncle, the only family on my father’s side who made me feel like I truly belonged. Working from memory, I depicted the top and bottom sections of the house clearly, while leaving the middle section in grey, symbolizing the haziness of faded memories. The background is enveloped in fog, enhancing the sense of distance and nostalgia. Within the house, the silhouettes of my aunt and uncle remain present, embodying the warmth and connection they gave me, even as the details of the past blur with time.
