author Randy Mazie.

I was responsible for illustrating the story,
designing every interior spread, creating the cover,
developing the typography system, and preparing the
book for commercial print.

Our Process

  • Story

    Every project begins with understanding the manuscript, identifying key story beats, and determining how pacing, illustration, and layout can best support the reader's experience.

  • Illustration

    Characters, environments, and supporting assets were illustrated with consistency across every spread to create an engaging visual narrative.

  • Editorial Layout

    Typography, spacing, and composition were carefully designed in Adobe InDesign to balance readability with visual storytelling.

  • Print Production

    Final files were prepared for commercial printing using Amazon KDP and Lulu specifications, including bleed, margins, typography, and production-ready exports.

From Story to Shelf

Every children's book begins with a story, but turning that story into a published book requires thoughtful design, careful production, and collaboration. For this project, I illustrated characters, designed every interior spread, developed the typography system, and prepared the book for commercial print, creating a reading experience that feels playful, polished, and engaging from cover to cover.
