Brief:

Past, Present, and Future is a three-panel narrative that explores the evolution of identity across time through personal, generational, and aspirational lenses. Using acrylic, mixed media, and layered symbolism, each canvas reflects a stage in my journey honoring legacy, embracing growth, and imagining possibility.

The Past centers my nana, whose resilience and quiet strength anchor our family history. Portraiture, vintage photos, and patterned geometry create a visual language rooted in heritage and memory. The Present captures my fragmented yet flourishing identity as a woman, artist, and first-generation college graduate. Puzzle pieces, woven textures, and affirmations symbolize complexity and self-construction. The Future, though small in size, is expansive in spirit featuring a sprouting plant held in my hand, set against a soft pastel sky filled with symbols of dreams and uncertainty.

Together, these works form an arc of reflection, resistance, and hope unifying themes of care, healing, and becoming. Through visual storytelling and material contrast, the series invites viewers to consider how we carry the past, shape the present, and reach toward the future.
